Grünliberale Partei Kampagnen
In collaboration with Rod Kommunikation and the Grünliberalen, I had the opportunity to photograph candidates for the cantonal and national elections — plus Stadtrat candidate Andreas Hauri, who was seeking re-election. A political lineup in need of a visual edge.
Rod Kommunikation provided me with a detailed creative concept, leaving no room for artistic improvisation. This was about precision, clarity, and consistency — every portrait needed to align with the campaign’s messaging. And so, I followed the plan to the letter.
The result? Classic, polished portraits. For the campaign posters, the brief called for well-lit studio shots, designed for maximum versatility across different media. No dramatic shadows, no moody storytelling — just clean, professional images that put the candidates front and center.
Andreas Hauri’s shoot, however, had a special twist. He found himself in front of my lens at the crack of dawn on what was probably the only sunny morning of the entire Swiss summer of 2021. (Timing is everything.) We selected the locations on the fly in Zurich’s Enge district, working efficiently to capture the right balance of approachability and authority.
From setup to shooting to final edits, the entire process took just half a day. Political campaigns move fast — so does photography. And in the end, the candidates got what they needed: portraits that mean business, without looking too business.
